It's a little weird video, but it's interesting. It reminds me the concep of Global English, and that funny fact that entails that Russian and French people (for example) can understand each other better in english than if they were talking with British people.
It also reminds me that english native speakers use to criticize Spanish' english accent, but they use speak with an awful spanish accent. It seems ironic to me.
I agree with David, It's easier to understand European people speaking in English than native English people in their different accents. I guess in Spain can happen the same.
What I cannot figure out why I can understand American accent better than English accent.
Amazing video! :) It's really interesting to spend a little time being aware of some of the different ways to speak the same language. It's incredible to think that you know a language and realize that you actually only understand some of the accents.

The guy is really funny, and he acts very well... I little bit over-exaggerated on the stereotypes but not bad :) When I was living in LA I applied for a program of english as a second language at UCLA. Most of my classmates surprisingly for me at the very beginning, were asian people, from Japan, Korea, Taiwan, China...but some of them came too from European and South American countries; France, Switzerland, Italy, Argentina, Costa Rica, Brazil... I still remember how many native americans used to laugh, or at least smile in a subtle way, when at lunch time, wherever the restaurant we were, they saw a group of friends from all those different countries trying to understand each other, and having fun at the same time, just in English but with very completely different accents and pronunciations. It was an unforgettable experience. This video and this guy reminded to me that amazing time I shared and spent with people from such a different countries and cultures...still now, some of them really close and good friends I keep in touch with... That crazy Babel's Tower became a playground thanks to the English language.
It's very good this video, I love it, I have laugh a lot with it. I agree with Quique in that I don't understand why I also have understood better the american accent than the English one. For me is very funny, the only thing I also would like is that he had speak with a Spanish accent.
